Understanding Bird Pressure:

To implement an effective bird control strategy, it is important to understand what the birds are doing at a particular site, this is known as bird pressure:

Heavy Pressure – This is associated with nesting and roosting at this site, this site will also provide a good water and food source nearby. These sites would be best protected using well installed bird netting systems.

Medium Pressure – This site will generally represent a food/water source, but not for nesting or roosting. Medium pressure sites can be successfully managed using a variety of bird control systems. Nets, post and wire systems and spike systems can all be used in such areas.

Light Pressure – These areas will only represent brief resting areas, there will not be a great food/water supply, or even shelter to protect the birds. These sites are the easiest to control, using almost any type of control system for the species concerned.
